Determining the urban embellishment and environmental sanitation as the top priority task and one of the tasks that determines the success of the Culture Week, the urban embellishment and environmental sanitation were directed to be deployed early by the Ward People’s Committee, with specific tasks, duties, areas and allocation to each individual and unit to implement.
Urban embellishment: With the focus is to form 03 specialized streets (trade streets):
Firstly: Silk Street: Be decorated in many colors with highlights to attract domestic and international visitors, such as:
The village gate with vibrant yellow flowers, lacquered diagonals, lanterns, silk ribbons and colorful silk columns for visitors to see the ancient and prosperous village, and such outdoor silk decoration also shows visitors the true quality of Van Phuc Silk Products – Ha Dong at a time when the Van Phuc Silk Brand is being negatively affected by imitation and poor-quality products, etc.
Street with over 1000 umbrellas, colorful lanterns, flags, lights and flowers. Six tree walls were erected and decorated at the village gate, the center for silk preservation and development, the trade street traffic axis and the 14 stakes of roses and paper flowers at the silk shops, with a total of 1560 flowers of all species.
The flower garden center of the administrative district was designed into a rural market, with the main highlight as a large fresco painting that has attracted the attention of visitors. In order to embellish the above-mentioned area, the Organizing Committee invested to re-pave all the ground with stone, replaced the system of trees and flowers, built small stalls bearing the imprints of the Northern villages, colorful silk lanterns and especially mobilized the people, cadres and teachers of kindergartens in the area together to paint a picture about the beauty of Van Phuc Silk Weaving Village.
Van Phuc Center for Silk Preservation and Development: Be decorated with many conical lights, flower gates, lanterns and high-quality stalls to serve the shopping needs of visitors. Especially, there is also a workshop to introduce silk production process by artist Nguyen Van Nam, the silk display area of Ha Dong Disability Association with folk paintings made from silk pieces. Here, visitors experienced and participated in the silk production and weaving process and picture matching process, to see the craftsmanship and the heart of the craftsmen in each meter of silk and painting. In addition, in the area, cultural and performance activities were organized regularly by the actors from the entertainment teams of 12 residential groups and schools in the ward and visitors, creating an exciting atmosphere and connecting the feelings of visitors with the local people.
The relics of Communal House, Pagoda, Temple and shrines are also embellished with lanterns, flowers, planted with trees and installed with signposts.
Moreover, the whole Silk Street was also arranged with flower pots and green trees in public places, creating a green space, displaying the ancient looms for visitors to visit and experience. The whole Street was decorated with over 500 silk lanterns with different colors and designs. To ensure both security and aesthetics of the Street, the Organizing Committee arranged the barriers into the mobile flower gates to warn vehicle prohibition hours to serve pedestrians.
Secondly, Food and Drink Street: 600 trees were planted in the multi-gates of the Food and Drink Street, Rum pond area; placed 04 decorative ornamental tree pots on Cong Bridge; and mobilized households to self-invest in the embellishment, such as: hang over 60 lanterns and over 100m of 3D fence barriers.
Thirdly, Street of flowers – pets and antiques:
Install artificial fish lake system, wooden bridges, decorative trees and flowers, creating highlights to attract visitors to the night walking street and street of flowers, ornamental trees and antiques.
Organize the Orchid Contest with the participation of clubs nationwide. Organize bonsai exhibitions converging about 20 clubs with more than 1000 kinds of trees for visitors to admire.
Mobilize the business households to embellish their stores, make the flower arches with colorful flowers to attract visitors.
Coordinate with the International Trade Fair Company (IFC) to successfully organize the 2018 trade fairs with over 120 booths to introduce products of provinces and trade villages.
Furthermore, to ensure safety during the Culture Week, with the help and assistance of Ha Dong Power Company, the Organizing Committee checked and invested in repairing the whole power system of public lighting and replacing new decorative lighting system in the central area; installing lighting systems, gates, food and drink street, separating electrical systems in the areas in order to ensure safety in the fire protection.
Environmental sanitation:
Propagate and mobilize business households of the food and drink street to overcome the sewage drainage system, install 3D picture panels to conceal the open ditches to ensure the civilization of the urban architecture of the night foot and drink street.
Mobilize the whole force for cleaning the locality. Assign staffs to contact and coordinate regularly with environment companies to timely supply dust bins, collect garbage daily, especially places where the activities take place and focus on large gathering areas of visitors such as: Silk Street, Food and Drink Street, Flower Street, Fairs, etc. to ensure clean spaces and free of garbage.
